2010 marks the 100th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution and the 200th anniversary of Mexican Independence from Spain. The Revolution forever marked the Mexican character and inspired the arts from muralists such as Orozco and Rivera to composers and poets. Grandeza members have immersed themselves in the time, studying revolutionary dances with a former member of the renowned Ballet Folklorico de Mexico. With Mariachi Nuevo Cuicatlan Grandeza will summon the spirit of this turbulent, fertile and defining period in Mexico’s history.
