Concierto el Rey -- Homenaje a Jose Alfredo Jimenez

In his quest to honor Mexico’s greatest composers at the Ford, producer Raul Ruiz offers what he believes is the first evening of Jimenez ever staged in the U.S. Jimenez is the foremost composer of ranchera music. He had no formal musical training but wrote more than 1000 songs and made a profound contribution to Mexico's musical heritage. Ruiz is marshalling a roster of musicians, singers  and dancers to pay tribute to one of the most prolific composers in the history of popular music.
