Ford Amphitheatre Master Electrician

The historic John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, a 1240-seat outdoor theatre set in the Hollywood Hills hosting over 120 performing arts events each summer, is seeking a Master Electrician for its 2010 Summer Season.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in theatrical performing arts venues (preferably in “road house” settings), and excellent planning, scheduling, computing, organizing and communicating skills.  The position is responsible for execution of the Ford’s season repertory lighting plot; typical duties include supervision of the lighting hang, circuit, patch, focus and maintenance.  The master electrician will be required to set up and breakdown the lighting control system on an event by event basis.  The master electrician will need the ability to work with both relatively inexperienced event producers and seasoned professionals, and their lighting designers, to tailor the repertory plot to the needs of each event and to program control cues.  A working knowledge of current industry standards and equipment, including operation of computerized lighting systems, is required.   Position also requires a working knowledge of all power structures (multiphase 440A, 220A, 110A, etc.).  Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb to heights over 10 feet. Must be able to work safely and efficiently.  Ideal candidates will be experienced theatrical lighting professionals with a hands-on, can-do work ethic, good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a high-paced, exciting environment.

Theatre Technicians

The Ford is accepting applications from qualified theatrical technicians to join its Summer Season stage crew. Typical duties include assisting with the load-in, set-up, running, strike and load-out of events. Candidates must have a working knowledge of current industry standards and equipment, including contemporary lighting and audio systems, be able to lift 50 lbs, and be able to climb to heights over 10 feet. Must be able to work safely and efficiently. Ideal candidates will have a hands-on, can-do work ethic, good communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a high-paced, exciting environment.

Box Office and Group Sales Assistant Manager
for the John Anson Ford Theatres

 
The JOHN ANSON FORD THEATRES has an immediate opening for a self-motivated, detail-oriented Box Office and Group Sales Assistant Manager to provide quality patron services for the over 200 performances presented at the Ford Theatres each year. The 1200 seat outdoor Ford Amphitheatre is set in the Hollywood Hills across from the Hollywood Bowl. It is an intimate theatre featuring music, dance, film and family events. The Ford Amphitheatre is a program of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.

Qualifications

Candidates should be personable with excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and a consistent work ethic.  Ideal candidates for this position have a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience and extensive knowledge in computer based ticketing (Pro-venue Max preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, event coordination and the performing arts.  Previous sales, cash handling, reporting, and Box Office experience is required.  Basic graphic design for simple marketing materials, extensive research and out bound sales calls may be required to fulfill a cooperative group sales campaign. Multilingual skills are preferred.
