Huayucaltia
Contemporary Music of Latin America from the Heart of Los Angeles
Sat. May 29, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Five musicians. Five countries. One singular sound. Huayucaltia (why-you-cal-tee-ah), the band whose name means “unity,” came together in Los Angeles 25 years ago. They wove the strands of their Peruvian, Mexican, Colombian, Argentinean and North American roots into a musical fabric that resonates with Latin American natives and world music fans alike. True to their sense of musical brotherhood, the five share the Ford stage with members of their sister bands Sabiá and Conjunto Jardin.

Presented by Huayucaltia.
