TAIKOPROJECT marks 10 years of creating their own brand of Japanese drumming, spiking tradition with rock, hip hop and theatre influences. The first American taiko drumming group to win a competition in Japan, they’ve performed at the Academy Awards, appeared in commercials for Nike and Mitsubishi and recorded for Kanye West. With Rhythmic Relations 2010, Artistic Directors Bryan Yamami and Masato Baba debut new works with marimba, koto (Japanese harp) and yokobue (bamboo flute), taking taiko music to the next level.
